What Maketh The Mad Man is an interactive exhibition on life in advertsing in the 21st Century. Debunk the myths and find out some of the secrets of thriving and surviving in this shadowy industry.

About the curator

It was the September of 2007 when I was thursted into the harsh light of the real world and told to get a proper job.

Not cut out to flog penthouses and drive a mini, and, despite having very little to offer anyone, I fortuitously ended up wit a job as the office dog's body at a fledgling online ad-agency. And the rest is history.

With two decades (*cough*) of agency experience, a slight annoyance with HBO drama and a computer to hide behind, my exhibition is here to show you some of the truths and myths of the glamorous world of advertising in the 21st Century.

Only when the fog of work eventually lifted, could I sit down and think about what had happened and what I had learnt over the last three years. Even then I wasn't entirely sure but I knew it wasn't about drinking Scotch in the day time or selling cigarettes...

I set about documenting my experiences from the world of online advertising - the people I had met, the work I did and the clients I had done it for.

What's left is a living, breathing introduction to life in 21st Century advertising using the experience of myself and my colleagues.
